DelTorto Named President of Inlanta Mortgage

Inlanta Mortgage is pleased to announce Nicholas J. DelTorto has been named president of the company. The former President, John Knowlton, announced the promotion at Inlanta’s annual sales conference in August at the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee. Knowlton will continue as chief executive officer.

Previously, DelTorto was the president of American Foundations MortgageBanc when it merged with Inlanta in August 2010. Prior to Inlanta, DelTorto was the president, CEO and founder of Amerihome Mortgage Company, a mortgage banking enterprise providing funding for residential and commercial loans from 1997 until the company was sold in 2008. DelTorto began his career at Fleet Mortgage Corporation which covered 14 years in New England, California and the Midwest. His career spans over 30 years in the mortgage banking industry.

“Nick has been an instrumental part of our growth and the Inlanta senior management team”, CEO John Knowlton said. “His knowledge, experience and leadership in the industry make him a great asset to the Inlanta team and I know he will continue to do great things as President.

Mr. DelTorto is also the president-elect of the Wisconsin Mortgage Bankers Association, a state association of banks and mortgage lenders engaged in residential real estate sales, servicing and administration.

“I am fortunate and proud to be part of the Inlanta team. The mortgage and banking industry has faced tremendous changes and consolidation. This has not necessarily been in the best interest of consumers and many quality mortgage professionals,” DelTorto said. “Our focus on serving our customers, real estate agents and our employees has attracted many mortgage professionals that have been displaced by big banks and independent mortgage companies with the challenges over the past several years. We believe our platform is one of the best in the business.”

Inlanta Mortgage held its eighth annual sales conference Monday August 13th and Tuesday August 14th at the Harley Davidson Museum in Milwaukee, with over 100 employees in attendance.

This two day meeting brought both branch and corporate employees together to discuss and share best practices, department updates and corporate initiatives. The conference also hosted guest speaker Tammy Maddente, Vice President of First Weber Group, who gave a presentation on current real estate trends and changes and provided valuable insight into the industry directly from a Realtor perspective. The second day featured international speaker Matthew Ferrara who presented two sessions focusing on selling to the next generation of consumers and developing great growth strategies.

During the conference, Inlanta raffled off prizes donated by sponsors, with all proceeds benefiting Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County. Altogether, Inlanta employees donated over $2800. Inlanta Mortgage also contributed to the organization for a combined donation totaling $4000. The money will go towards Habitat for Humanity of Waukesha County’s largest fundraising event, a wine tasting and silent auction on October 14th.

“This year’s conference was once again a huge success and the Harley Davidson Museum was a great venue,” CEO John Knowlton said. “It’s a great opportunity for our employees from around the country to get together and it gives them a chance to network and share what works in their respective markets. Having the meeting at the Harley Museum allows us to ‘show off’ Milwaukee to our guests from around the country. We are also extremely proud of what we were able to raise for Habitat for Humanity – which can be largely attributed to the generosity and kindness of our employees.”

Top Workplace 2012

John Knowlton, founder of Inlanta Mortgage, believes honesty and employee satisfaction to be his recipe for success. That commitment led rise to Inlanta Mortgage employees voting their workplace as a Top Workplace in 2012.

Inlanta Mortgage in the Beginning

When Knowlton began operations as First Choice Mortgage in 1993, he knew he wanted to take a different approach to helping people achieve their dreams. Almost 20 years later, Knowlton’s start-up has grown into Inlanta Mortgage, Inc. serving 14 different states and continuing to expand.

At the core of Inlanta’s business is a commitment to customer satisfaction, building relationships and taking an honest approach to financing their customers’ dreams.

“We take pride in the highest level of honesty, integrity and ethics in all of the services we provide for our customers,” said Nicholas J. DelTorto, Executive Vice President for Inlanta Mortgage. “Our employees are the reason we are able to live up to that standard.”

DelTorto firmly believes that Inlanta Mortgage can only be successful when employees feel a sense of ownership and pride in their company which translates into great customer service. To help foster this culture, Inlanta Mortgage works hard to involve employees in decision making and keeps them happy and healthy with wellness initiatives and annual company outings to a Brewers game.

“Since I founded Inlanta Mortgage in 1993, I’ve made my employees’ well-being, opportunity for success and happiness a priority,” Knowlton said. “I firmly believe that the foundation of any successful business stems from great employees. We will remain committed to our employees and their well-being in the future.”
